I Feel the Earth...Move...Under My Feet!

No, I am not going to sing a Carole King song...although that might be an idea for someone for the Memorial Christmas Party...

No...I have been diagnosed with Vestibular Neuronitis so I feel like I have been playing "Spin Like a Top" with my grandkids too long. The house litterally feels like it is spinning if I move. So those who like roller coaster rides feel free to come on over...oh, wait, I'm the only one that will notice the ride...nevermind. I am suppose to be getting better soon, until then guess I will just yell "wheeee!" everytime I get up.

"I feel the Earth...move..under my feet! I feel the sky tum-bl-in' down! A tum-bl-in' down!"

Held

Two months is too little. They let him go.

They had no sudden healing.

To think that providence would Take a child from his mother while she prays

Is appalling.

Who told us we'd be rescued?

What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares?

We're asking why this happens To us who have died to live?

It's unfair.

This is what it means to be held.

How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life

And you survive.

This is what it is to be loved.

And to know that the promise was

When everything fell we'd be held.

This hand is bitterness.

We want to taste it, let the hatred know our sorrow.

The wise hands opens slowly to lilies of the valley and tomorrow.

This is what it means to be held.

How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life

And you survive.

This is what it is to be loved.

And to know that the promise was

When everything fell we'd be held.

If hope is born of suffering.

If this is only the beginning.

Can we not wait for one hour watching for our Savior?

This is what it means to be held.

How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life

And you survive.

This is what it is to be loved.

And to know that the promise was

When everything fell

we'd be held.

As A Man Thinketh

"We are today where our thoughts have brought us. And we will be tomorrow where our thoughts take us. - James Allen

Thoughts truly are a powerful thing. Our words and actions begin with a thought. Our feelings depend on our thoughts. Science is even finding our health is affected by how we think. Wars are started with thoughts. Great acts of kindness are started with thoughts. How many meetings does the corporate world have because someone had a thought? Inventions? Philosophies? Blogs?

As a man thinketh...(as my old King James version says)...so is he. We become more of what we dwell on in our minds: positive or negative. But better yet we are offered the mind of Christ! Oh what positive wisdom is at our disposal! To use for whatever good we can think of! And what will be the outcome? ...to Him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine...with our minds...

Shane & Zorro vs Pete & Luke

Shane has really been a great asset to our church as a worship minister and personally as a friend. He has also had great influence over some people in our worship team, encouraging them to do solos and really improve on their musicality. But there is one area I wish he had not encouraged....

Beginning at the Beginning

Animal crackers, and cocoa to drink. That is the finest of suppers, I think;
when I'm grown up and can have what I please, I think I shall always insist upon these.

Christopher Morley, author & journalist

Just a thought to keep a child-like heart this year: Trust in God in all things. Say "I love you" often. Look for the good in others and quickly forgive any wrongs.

And don't forget the occasional animal crackers and cocoa.
